✏️ Why I built this editable brand guideline template

When I was a young(er) designer, brand guidelines felt… daunting.
I was not terrified of it, mostly unclear. No one really taught us how to start one, what the flow should be, or how to make it look intentional without spending hours rearranging elements and rewriting the same lines.
So I built the thing I wish someone had handed me back then.
This no-lorem-ipsum, editable brand guideline template exists to save you time, reduce the mental clutter, and give you a clean starting point instead of a blank page. It’s simple, warm, and easy to make your own; exactly how guidelines should feel.
A clear structure
The template walks you through everything: the logo, the colours, the typography, the personality, the basics that make a brand feel like itself.
One more thing I was very intentional about: no lorem ipsum anywhere. Every section in this template uses real, simple language that shows you how to write, what to write, and why it matters. You’re not left guessing or filling empty boxes with placeholder words that teach you nothing. It’s real content, real guidance, and a much kinder way to learn how brand guidelines actually work.
You don’t need to guess, google endlessly, or copy someone else’s 70-page brand bible just to look “legit.”
This one gives you clarity.
For young designers looking for an editable brand guideline template
If you’re just starting out — a design student, graphic design intern, junior designer, freelancer — this template is honestly a small act of kindness from me to you.
It helps you:
Save hours you’d otherwise lose formatting
Understand what a guideline actually needs
Present your work with confidence
Spend more time designing, less time wrestling with layout decisions
Deliver cleaner, more thoughtful brand packages
It’s your shortcut, your safety net, your “I’ve got you.” :-)
This template is a launchpad
I don’t want you to rely on this template forever. I want this one to teach you the rhythm and logic of brand guidelines so that one day, you can build them freely, instinctively, joyfully.
This is just your starting point. A simple guide to help you feel organised, not overwhelmed.
If you’re working on a brand right now and feeling a little lost on how to package it neatly, this editable brand guideline template will make your workflow smoother and your results more polished.
